PLEASE NOTE: If you need an item quick, don't order from us; amazon is your best bet. We do appreciate you ordering from us directly (the author and the publisher make more from the sale this way), but due to the increased number of orders and covid-related shipping changes, our shipping takes considerably longer than it used to. Please be patient, as it can take 2 to 3 weeks to process and ship orders. Please email us about an order only if it's absolutely necessary. Hogan’s Heroes
“A Wonderful Trip Down Memory Lane.”
    5 Stars!
This is a terrific book, and Brian ‘Uncle Buzz’ Young did an excellent job writing it!
For those of you who are thinking about ordering it, I highly recommend you proceed to check out and press buy now. This book serves as an excellent guide to take you back through the Hogan’s Heroes tv years and what occurred in front of and behind the camera.
From the very beginning, Brian gives us the inside story as to what this show was up against, not only to get on television in 1965, but to stay on tv for 6 years, as it competed with some of the best shows of this period.
The episode synopses within this book are very helpful as well, as are the critiques and commentary. These days, I often find myself watching old tv shows like this one, because they make me feel young again, happy about the past and still hopeful about the future. This show is certainly one of those.
I was only 5 years old when this show originally aired and I did not start watching it in reruns, until I was about 11. None the less, when I did, I was hooked, but I never really knew all that went into making this show great, until I met Brian at a “Hollywood Show” and bought his book. Like most shows of this period, they were one of kind, no real special effects to see here, just great storytelling, great acting, great directing and great fun! What else do you need?
I also want to mention how worthwhile the chapter on Special Guest Stars was. I truly enjoyed reading what Bruce Bilson, Ruta Lee, Jerry London and Alan Oppenheimer had to say, not only about this show, but about their careers and Hollywood in general.
Brian, I really want to thank you for taking the time to write this book and for taking us back to the years 1965 through 1971. Those were great times, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about them here, all over again.
Lastly, I want to end by saying, every time I opened this book, I could not help but hear the Hogan’s Heroes theme music play in the back of my head, it was a one-of-a-kind theme song and it just sticks with you.
    Best Regards,
    Bill Taylor
