Well, not really for us folks in Southern California. For US, it is very cold right now, and we never do anything unless it is exaggerated and over the top, even our weather!
Most of you have probably heard the old adage that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. The adage implies that the last blast of cold and snow at the beginning of the month will soon give way to the gentle, airy days of Spring flowers and April showers. That said, everything we do in Los Angeles has to be EPIC and over the top. We had a very dry and verrrrrry fiery start to Winter with very little rain and lots of smoke and flames. Then instead of getting warm and Spring-like in March, our temperatures dove into the low 40s at night and highs in the low 50s during the day. These are very cold temperatures here, and we had cold winds and buckets of rain pouring down on us all month!
This month, you’ll read about the exciting projects that I am cooking up for 2025, including three new movie projects over the next 3 months. I will also be making a number of live appearances with friends and fans alike. And you may not know this, but I have Irish blood in me, and I enjoy a great St. Patrick’s Day celebration every year!
And don’t forget it is National Book Month – you’ll find all my books on sale this month at www.KathyGarver.com!
Enjoy the newsletter, and I look forward to seeing you soon!

MOTION PICTURES MOTHERS CLUB HAS A SPRING FLING
|
Motion Pictures Mothers Club President Kathy Garver attended another fun party at the cozy Robin Hood British Pub in Van Nuys, California, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! In addition to sharing a toast and a laugh with good friend Jerry Mathers and his wife, Kathy enjoyed the featured performer, Chuck Harter. Chuck entertained with comedic songs, and he also presented a special recorded song, The Londoners, in honor of our dear friend Irene Exter. We missed her this year because this was the first event she has missed in 30 years! Their next event will be held on Saturday, May 17, when the club will hold its annual luncheon at Burbank’s famous Smokehouse Restaurant.

KATHY REUNITES WITH ADAM-12 STAR KENT McCORD AT THE HOLLYWOOD HERITAGE MUSEUM
|
Kathy was proudly in her Irish Green when she ran into her dear friend and Adam-12 co-star Kent McCord. Did you know Kathy played a troubled, rebellious teenager on an episode of that classic series? (Kathy was a real stinker in that episode – she was running away from her mother, played by Barbara Hale, also known as Perry Mason’s secretary Della Street!) “I always have so much fun at the Hollywood Heritage Museum,” Kathy muses. She also met with other friends and enjoyed the unique exhibits at this rustic Hollywood landmark.

NEW CLASSIC CARS EXHIBIT AT THE HOLLYWOOD MUSEUM
What a terrific time Kathy had when she attended the opening of the Hollywood Museum’s fabulous new Classic Cars exhibit! Do you remember The Dukes of Hazzard and the General Lee? That car was like a Timex watch – it took a beating and kept on ticking as it ran wild in a succession of high-speed car chases for nearly a decade! Also on hand was Disney’s powerful little VW, Herbie, the Love Bug, and the Mystery Machine used by Scooby-Doo and his gang solving mysteries. Even more entertaining than the exhibits were the speeches given by the Dukes themselves John Schneider, Tom Wopat and Catherine Bach. Michelle Lee starred in The Love Bug (before her days on Knots Landing), and the grandson of Scooby-Doo’s voice actor shared his memories too. Many thanks to event organizers Donelle Dadigan, Steve Nicamoe and Harlan Boll for creating a memorable walk down memory lane for all attending.

OPENING NIGHT FOR CRAZY MAMA
Kathy thrilled to the opening night performance of the new play, Crazy Mama, starring Linda Purl (Happy Days, Matlock, and much more) and directed Linda’s Happy Days alum, Anson “Potsie” Williams. Who knew Linda was capable of playing 16 different characters? The show was accompanied by an excellent singer/guitarist, who provided the Greek chorus. The evening was capped off with a sensational after party taking in the views at the home of Lovely after party with great overlooking views at the home of landscape designer Doug Holder. Thanks again to another successful event arranged by Harlan Boll.
