PLEASE NOTE: If you need an item quick, don't order from us; amazon is your best bet. We do appreciate you ordering from us directly (the author and the publisher make more from the sale this way), but due to the increased number of orders and covid-related shipping changes, our shipping takes considerably longer than it used to. Please be patient, as it can take 2 to 3 weeks to process and ship orders. Please email us about an order only if it's absolutely necessary. We REALLY appreciate your patience for this, and appreciate your business! THANK YOU!

Renée Patin Farrington, an 84-year-old longtime resident of Burbank and now a resident of Salinas, CA, will give an entertaining visual presentation about 50 years of life in Los Angeles, growing up as the daughter of one of the original Disney animators and discovering recently that she really didn't live in the "shadow" of the Hollywood Sign. Her free talk will be presented by the Burbank Historical Society at The Gordon Howard Museum, 115 N. Lomita St., Burbank, CA. 91506 on September 10, 2022 from 2 pm to 3:15 pm.
Ms. Farrington's memoir, "In the Shadow of the Sign," took 12 years to produce and was recently published by BearManor Media. The large-format book contains 1,000 photos. Disney Legal vetted the book for over two years. Her talk will be accompanied by many photos from her book and she'll show historically-significant 8 mm films shot by her father, including the animator's strike against Walt Disney in May 1941 and films of animators at work and play.
